Introduction
Another update from Pulsar is live! About a month ago, we wrote about the update that concerned the upgrade of top-of-the-line XP devices. Now, a similar update has been launched for XM devices:
Firmware 4.0 – New observation mode and image quality improvements.
The first change is the introduction of User mode. Up to now, three modes were available – Rocks, Forest, and Identification. The purpose of this new mode is for the user to adjust settings in the existing modes according to his or her own preference. Once set, the settings will be saved in the device’s internal memory (the unit will remember these settings even if the device is turned off and back on). The User mode can be modified in the quick menu.
The second update is the enhancement of image quality and video recording quality. Pulsar optimized the video processing algorithms, achieving an image with better contrast, reduced noise and without flickering.
New colour options for reticles have been added – a black reticle with a white dot and a white reticle with a black dot.
Finally, the range of the brightness of icons is now wider – the user can enhance/dim the brightness of the icons even more precisely so that it is in accordance with the ambient lighting. When it is bright outside, the icons must be set to an intensity strong enough for the user to clearly see them. At night, they must be dimmed so that they don’t shine into the user’s eyes.
The new firmware also brings along minor bug fixes and performance-enhancing changes.
Pulsar encourages their customers to contact their client service should they encounter any problems when updating the device:
