Schmidt & Bender is one of the renowned names in the shooting industry, thanks to their big selection of rifle scopes for hunting, sports shooting, and the military. The rifle scopes from S&B have the highest quality, and because of that, they are in use by armies all around the globe. They care also for sports shooters, so they developed a scope especially for field target competitors. The rifle scope for these competitions is named Field Target II.
Schmidt & Bender 12.5-50×56 Field Target II
The S&B Field Target II scope is a derived version of the Police Marksman II rifle scope, which was specially redesigned for field target competitions. This is already the second generation of this scope, whit many improvements against its predecessor. The second generation is on the market already since 2014.
The Field Target II scope features a big elevation turret, very similar to the one that was earlier on the PM 2 5-25×56 model, which was one of the best selling rifle scopes for army snipers. The turret has a double-turn design with 0.1 MIL and ¼ MOA clicks, or a multi-turn design with 1/8 MOA clicks. What is interesting, this scope can be ordered with the reticle in the first or in the second focal plane. For the FFP option only 1 reticle is available and for the SFP option 2 reticles. The reticles are illuminated with 11 intensity settings, and the illumination control is located on the right side of the scope, behind the magnification ring.
The parallax wheel is very precisely adjustable with Schmidt & Bender’s zero-backlash parallax compensation that ensures precision measurements between 9 and 70 meters. The parallax adjustment goes even further up to infinity, so the scope can be used also on rifles that are capable of shooting further distances.
The entire rifle scope is made from a single piece aluminum, whit a main tube diameter of 34 millimeters. Only the magnification ring and the ocular have a rubber part, for better grip. The finish of the scope is silver-colored and satin-finished. This ensures that the scope doesn’t heat up fast at direct sunlight, so the distance measurements are always extremely precise. The user can order this scope also with the usual black finish.
The S&B Field Target II rifle scope comes standard with Butler Creek flip-up covers, and also some accessories can be bought separately. A magnetic 130 millimeters big parallax wheel is available, which has enough space to make your own marks, and the big diameter gives you more precise reading of the distance. On the opposite side of the illumination turret also a bubble level can be installed that has a small indicator for easier reading of the distance on the parallax wheel. Also a 90 millimeters rubber light-protection ocular is available.
The Schmidt & Bender Field Target II rifle scope features a 2 years long warranty period, but also after these 2 years, they provide great service for their products that are mostly charge free.
