Introduction
Swarovski Optik is a renowned European manufacturer of sports optics. This year (2019), they haven’t presented anything major at Shot Show. CL Companion Nomad garnered plenty of attention at the fair, but it was launched in 2018 already. At IWA, a brand-new product was exhibited right at the middle of their massive booth – behold the ST Vista spotting scope.
What is it all about?
ST Vista is not a standard spotting scope that a user carries around; it is a device meant to be fixed at panoramic viewpoints. We expect such optical devices to be robust and extremely durable, which Vista undoubtedly is. Swarovski filmed a video to prove that.
As you can see, the spotting scope defies adverse weather conditions. Usually, the spotting scopes of this type are not aesthetically appealing because of their robust construction – but if anyone knows how to incorporate elegance and aesthetics, it’s Swarovski. The colour used for the housing is silver, while both the curves and the Swarovski logos on the surface nicely add to the appearance. At dimensions of 500 x 207 x 313 mm, the device is compact for a fixed spotting scope. It weighs just under 9 kilos.
The use of the device is simple and intuitive. It can be pivoted for 360° horizontally and tilted ±45° vertically. It boasts a 30x fixed magnification combined with a 95-mm objective lens for ultimate performance, even after the sun sets. The optical clarity is guaranteed thanks to Swarovski’s high-technology coatings applied on the optical parts – SWAROTOP, SWARODUR, and SWAROCLEAN. It offers a field of view of 35 m at 1000 m.
Conclusion
ST Vista carries a price tag of 12.500 EUR and comes with a 5-year warranty. With these, viewpoints are sure to become even more sensational.
